The short answer

Crimson Moon supports solo play or two-player online co-op. There is no couch co-op. Partners share a life pool, can revive each other, and face scaling enemy groups. Crossplay has not been confirmed in the reviewed official material.

This is a duo game, not a three- or four-player raid. You can clear the campaign alone, then invite one friend when you want a second blade beside you.

How a co-op hunt works

Your ally is more than extra damage. The pair shares lives, can resurrect a fallen partner, and can combine Weapon Arts and complementary builds. Enemy composition and difficulty adjust for the extra Nephilim, so bringing a friend does not simply turn every boss into free loot.

Before you queue: Shared lives mean one reckless player can burn the whole run. Agree on who handles revives and save your strongest cooldowns for stagger windows.

What carries over?

Gear successfully purified at the end of a completed run becomes permanent. Co-op does not replace the normal extraction-style risk: fail the run and unpurified finds can still disappear.

Is Crimson Moon crossplay?

No official source in the supplied launch material confirms PC–PlayStation–Xbox crossplay. Treat cross-platform parties as unconfirmed for now. If you are buying specifically to play with a friend, choose the same platform family until the developer publishes a clear compatibility statement.

Should you play solo or co-op?

Solo gives you full control over the shared-life problem and makes enemy attention easier to read. Co-op opens up revives, skill synergies, and split pressure on large targets. New players should learn one weapon setup solo, then move into co-op once dodges and revival timing feel natural.
